He is fellowship director and head of the Scripps Cartilage Transplantation Center as well as the co director of the Scripps Regenerative Medicine and Cell Therapy Program. He also serves as medical director of the Shiley Center for Orthopaedic Research and Education. Dr Bugbee’s clinical practice is focused on the treatment of complex cartilage problems and arthritis of the knee, hip and ankle, including the use of cartilage repair and joint preservation techniques such as osteochondral transplantation, osteotomy as well as joint replacement.
